Reception

Introduction

Welcome to Reception!

The team in Reception know just how important a child’s early years are to laying the positive foundations for learning. Research shows that children learn and develop at a faster rate from birth to five years, than at any other time in their lives, so their experiences in the early years have a major impact on their future life chances.

At Chepping View Primary Academy, we strive to provide every child with the care and support they need, to have the very best start on their ‘learning journey’ with us.

Our curriculum and practice is shaped by four guiding principles in the statutory framework:

  • Every child is a unique child, who is constantly learning and can be resilient, capable, confident, and self-assured.
  • Children learn to be strong and independent through positive relationships.
  • Children learn and develop well in enabling environments with teaching and support from adults, who respond to their individual interests and needs and help them to build their learning over time. Children benefit from a strong partnership between practitioners and parents and/or carers.
  • Importance of learning and development. Children develop and learn at different rates.

We are excited that you have chosen us and we look forward to developing a firm partnership with you to support the learning, development and well-being of your child in their first year at Chepping View Primary Academy.

Please take a look at the IFPT Early Years Foundation Stage policy on the Policies Page for further information.
